FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

📍Where is the show?
We're above The Ship on New Cavendish Street, directly opposite the Tesco Express. Head up the stairs to the right of the main bar. You can grab a drink downstairs and bring it upstairs.
💷 What does Pay What You Can mean?
We're a crowdfunded comedy club, and ask you to pay what you thought the show was worth at the end of the show, but strictly to your means. Most people pay the recommended £12, some people pay more, and some people pay less.
🎟️ What's the £5 reservation fee for?
This guarantees you a seat. We're a tiny room, and usually sell out, but if you'd rather not pay it: feel free to come just before the show starts without a ticket and take any spare space we might have!
🎤 Are all the acts paid?
Yes all of the acts are paid a guaranteed fee irrespective of donations, plus bonuses if audiences are generous. This is a professional comedy night, just in an exceptionally casual and intimate setting!
☝️Will I get picked on?
We're really not that sort of club. Since the room is so small, there is often a bit of crowd interaction, but it's never mean spirited. Be brave and sit near the front!
🍻Can I reserve a table for my group?
We don't have any allocated seating, and all seats are first come, first served. The biggest table we have is for four. We're known for being really friendly to people attending alone, and lots of friendships have been made at our post-show drinks!
🕺Can I get a spot?
We're not an open mic, and typically book acts around six months in advance directly or through their managements. The night is booked by RGB Monster on behalf of The Ship.
